The best of intentions without action are just that –intentions.

I believe...

…life is precious and so are the people in it. I created LIFEBOOKS to honour relationships and human connections; to inspire people to show their appreciation of one another and give them a way to express the impact these special people have on the world around them.

…the process should be as rewarding as the finished product itself. My number one concern before turning this idea into a business was to make sure that nothing would stand in people’s way. I am always available to answer questions and we offer added services to fill in where you need extra help.

They do say, “Three time’s a charm!!”

No one knew that she loved to play sports and she spoke six languages.

She was given 15 months, but was gone in five.

Yes it has taken me time to perfect my craft and my vision, but now I am finally ready to bring it to the world.

The story of how LIFEBOOKS came to be is in fact part of my personal story and thanks to some very important people in my life.

The inspiration...

A wise client of mine once told me " You can have it all, just not at the same time". I was young then and so were my two children, I ran my company 'A Little Inspiration' between interruptions -- the life of a mompreneur. I had lots of energy, enthusiasm and ideas. I was continually adding to my list of accomplishments, despite the limited sleep and the need to juggle many balls. To this day I remember my client's imparted wisdom, after I had expressed my wish to do more.

She was right -- it was important that I respect the priorities I'd set for myself and that in time, I would have more freedom to do some of the other things I dreamed of. It's not like I wasn't enjoying what I was doing at the time -- I just had so many more ideas and passions.

So now with this perspective outlined, here is the honest story behind creatLIFEBOOKS, and why it has taken me so long to get here.

Inspiration #1: After my children were born, I saw the magic happen with my parents…they became grandparents. Once the kids were toddlers, my mother would tell them stories of when I was little, or when she or her parents were little. My daughter was especially fascinated. My father still to this day sings ‘little ditties” that he learned as a boy. My parents were the original inspiration for the idea of a LegacyBook. I wanted to capture the stories and the songs and the family recipes and such, so that my children would be able to have them in print forever.
I created a scrapbook for my parents and my best friend Joanne to fill out. That was 19 years ago.
Inspiration #2  My children are also lucky to know and have a wonderful connection with their great grandmother, my husband’s grandmother. She is 95 years old.  Six years ago I decided that I wanted to capture her incredible life story, so I created a list of interview questions and embarked on a series of interview session. I designed and produced a 94 page hard cover coffee table book that made her story come to life. The process was priceless. I learned things that no one else knew about her and also discovered the essence of who she was. Her reaction to the book was validation that there is value in creating a legacy book.
I called it the MYstory book, with numerous chapters, poems, pictures, stories, historic details and sentiments from those who love her.
Inspiration #3: In October, 2016 I learned of some devastating news about my very best friend since childhood. A terminal brain tumor. Everything came to a halt for me. The end of 2016 consisted of visits back home to be with my dear friend and a feeling of hopelessness. In time, I started to think how lucky I was to have had Joanne in my life. I wrote down what I learned from her and how knowing her has shaped me into who I am today. I decided to put all of this into a book that captured these sentiment. I wanted and needed her to know.
Joanne is my inspiration for finally turning my ideas and my passion for creating these life story books into a business, where I can give the gift of creating a LIFEBOOK to others. She is in every book that I create because she is my inspiration for the art, the imagination, and the careful attention to detail and most importantly, taking the time to show those you love how much you care.

Since Joanne's passing, I have created MYstory and OURstory LIFEBOOKS as well as A Little Inspiration books for various special occasions, even for someone as far away as South Africa! I will continually add to the templates, the designs and the illustrations. Each new project brings new ideas and I love to make each book come to life in a way unique to the person it is about.

I have a mission to inspire people to take the time to put into words how they feel about someone special -- for 'one day' in the future may end up being just a little too late.
