Every LIFEBOOK has a story line that follows a theme and it can span over an entire lifetime or it highlights a specific period in time, or special relationship. The books are designed and written to reflect not only the highlights or moments in time, but the sentiments, introspection, and the impact these things have on an individual and the people around them. It is an opportunity to express thoughts and an appreciation for the people in one’s life.

A LIFEBOOK is created to honour and celebrate life. It reads more like a story book and the questions, which are prepared to capture your personal story, help you to gather the content easily. We help with the choice of photos to accompany those words and special features that bring new perspectives to light. We also offer editing, interviewing, transcription and writing services, if you should feel you need them.

It really depends on which style of book you choose and how quickly you answer the questions and gather your photos. If you have to gather information from others, it typically takes longer than if you have access to all of the information yourself.

In general, you should leave 6-8 weeks to create a 40-60 page LIFEstory book. A LIFEBOOK that captures sentiments of appreciation can be created and printed in less time (3-4 weeks) —  less information, but still very impactful!

Either way, from the time you submit all the answers to the questions along with the photos, I would count on a minimum of 4 weeks to create (2 weeks)  and print books (2 weeks).

It is always best to leave much more time than expected because these LIFEBOOKS seem to have a life of their own. You will be amazed at the information you manage to collect and knit together into a beautiful story and how much you enjoy the process of gathering the information.

You do not need any experience at all. We have designed the product and process so that all you need to do is answer questions and pick the photos that will accompany your story. If you have little or no knowledge with regards to scanning and uploading photos, no worries, we have recommendations as to where you can go to have someone do it for you.

If you want your answers to read more like a story, we have editing services available to you and we can provide a quote to do so, but it is generally $30/hr.

The cost to create a LIFEBOOK varies, depending on the number of pages, whether there are any special feature pages, custom illustrations, or editing services required for example. A general rule of thumb for most books is $12 per page (design, production and printing) + shipping.
